The intervention on the Besana Brianza hospital building performs the adaptation and updating of the original structure in compliance with current regulations. In several site rounds, volumetric additions are made to accommodate technological spaces, thus facilitating the modern running of the hospital.
Fruit and Vegetable Market
The extension operated at the fruit and vegetable market in Bergamo is fulfilled with added bays that do not alter the visual impact of the existing: the same height, the same materials ensure continuity with the primitive architecture. The integration thus takes up the lines of the building, but improves its technological and environmental features.

The complete renovation acts on a courtyard within the historic city center. Two ambitions guide the intervention: to safeguard exterior architectural elements such as openings and railings; and to modernize interior spaces to ensure their best use. The internal courtyard is offered to serve all housing units.

In the fabric of the urban center, new residential volumes are built along the lines of the recovered historic courtyard. The balconies, which compositely enrich the facades, set back so as not to spill out of the profile. The inner courtyard provides a green space to serve residents.
