Over the years, the company has achieved high levels of organisational and technological quality: company activities are supported by a technical and management organisation dedicated to the realisation of public and private civilian and industrial buildings, and for the supply of a customer-focused consultation service.


The origins

The origins of the design, construction and building activity of the Schiavi family date back to 1850. But it was only in 1928, with the establishment of the joint-stock company that Cavalier Luigi Schiavi followed in the traditions of a family that has now reached its fifth consecutive generation. The company first registered with the Bergamo Chamber of Commerce on 22/12/1928, under number 19045. Nearly twenty-five years later, in 1951, the company registered on the Regional List of Builders and the Construction Workers’ Social Security fund in Bergamo and, in 1953, with the Board of Construction Companies in Bergamo – now known as ANCE Bergamo.


From the 1960s to the 1980s

In 1964, the Schiavi company was registered with the brand new ANC (no. 7310/04). Three years later, the company originally named “Impresa Luigi Schiavi dei fratelli Schiavi”, became an SNC: the company purpose of “building company” became official and led to a change in the registration number with the ANC, which became 21821/07. In 1968, the new Schiavi Snc registered with the Builders’ Association of Milan (Assimpredil) at the same time as its activities intensified in the Milan area. It took four more years to open administrative offices in Milan, while in 1981, a new change to the company structure saw Impresa Luigi Schiavi dei Fratelli Schiavi Snc became Impresa di Costruzioni Edili Luigi Schiavi Spa, and the company transferred to its current headquarters in Bellusco, in the province of Monza and Brianza.


Towards the new millennium

In 1990, the company underwent a further change in terms of structure, becoming what is now Schiavi Spa – Impresa di Costruzioni. Company stock was increased to £ 4,000,000,000 (fully paid up). During the 1990s, the brand continued with its strong expansion and continued to operate across a network covering the whole of Lombardy. In 1997, the company registered with the Association of Construction Companies for the Province of Lecco. At the start of the new millennium, in 2000, Schiavi Spa received Quality according to that required by the UNI EN ISO 9002 standard,and awarded on the basis of quality and procedural standards being met. Three years later, in 2004, Quality Management System Certification was renewed, according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard. At the same time, the company also received Certificates of Qualification from SOA (Certifying Company) Cat. OG1 Class VIII, inherent to the performance of public contracts without limits to total.


A renewed enthusiasm

After Paolo Schiavi was appointed President of the Board of Directors in 2004, the whole Schiavi Group continued to grow and there was a reshuffle in terms of company structure, allowing the company to face the new millennium with renewed enthusiasm. In 2006, the fully paid-up company stock was further increased, arriving at € 3,000,000.00, while in 2008 the company achieved Quality certification also covering the new OG2 class III, for the restoration of buildings subject to heritage protection. In 2018, it obtained certification pursuant to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standard and in 2019, it maintained SOA certification for the categories OG1 Class. VIII and OG2 Class. IV bis.


New increase in company stock

On the strength of the successes that characterised the first two decades of the new millennium, Schiavi Spa further increased its company stock from the previous €3,000,000.00 to the current € 5,000,000.00. In this way, the company stock almost doubled in just fourteen years. This significant investment is confirmation of an ongoing virtuous course, already in being since the first half of the last century.
