Elementary School

The new school building stands in an area specially dedicated by the municipality for public educational institutions. Single-pitch sloping roofs denote a free, exuberant architectural line. Classrooms, executive offices, laboratories and a gymnasium punctuate the facility. The buildings are separate from each other but face a single courtyard with embedded green spaces.
Corberi Hospital

The entire renovation of the hospital is discharged in two batches. The intervention adopts solutions and materials consistent with those already in place. These choices safeguard the architectural consistency of the building on the outside, while on the inside it is completely modernized for the best efficiency of hospital service.
Cascina Cortazza

In the ancient heart of the town center, Cascina Cortazza stands near the parish church. The building’s location inspires a careful renovation that would modernize the site while preserving its constructional stylistic features: the double pitch, the small, sometimes haphazard openings, and the continuous overhanging balcony. The architecture of rural traditions marries the Cascina’s housing […]
Public housing, year 1955

The ground floor is for garages while the raised ones house apartments. Vertical, continuous windows mark the fronts of the readily modern building, which adopts all the architectural solutions of the period. The housing units are elevated above street level: this arrangement balances the privacy of the apartments with exposure to the public street and access […]
Middle School, year 1970-1971

The design of the new school building includes a stone basement and a projecting second floor in plaster. The architecture adopts a careful study of solar radiation so that the large windows dose the light appropriately. The projecting body shadows the ground-floor openings and receives equal protection from the roof pitch and the sunburst pilasters […]
Market Square

The intervention opens up the new square, where the weekly market takes place, within an already established urban fabric. The gathering space is furnished with low-visual-impact architecture: benches, low walls, bollards, and paths that facilitate people to meet and stop. The rearrangement of public greenery emphasizes the simple but effective geometry of the design.

Magistrate’s Court, year 1959

Then-Senate President Cesare Merzagora inaugurated the building on June 28, 1969, remarking on its civic utility. The former post office is now converted to municipal offices but still retains an austere architecture, measured against its original purpose: a line of severity broken only by the entrance front, where the curved wall softens the structure, distinguished at […]
Gymnasium

The school building rises in successive lots until the construction site of the gymnasium, which gives success and completion to the whole structure. The delivery of the project is therefore gradual: classrooms, offices, laboratories; the concrete construction of a space for motor education sets the seal on previous interventions, delivering the building to full efficiency.
Psycho-Social Center

The building appears sober and uncluttered, aligning with its intended use: a self-contained health facility for the recovery of patients with particularly sensitive conditions. Severe and compact, the volumes fit without contrast into the residential area. Only planimetric choices intervene to offset the building’s bodies to lighten its austerity.
