The facility houses the middle and elementary schools of the municipality of Trezzano sul Naviglio. The institute is divided into separate functional blocks, joined together by the walkway, which in the designer’s intentions was to look like “the little train that took the children to school.” The various pavilions have a strongly modern feel, thanks to the use of reinforced concrete, both in the facade elements and in the decorative roof structures. Functional details, such as exterior staircases, sunshade systems, and the load-bearing beams of the gymnasium are emphasized not only by high architectural expressiveness, but also by particular refinement of execution detail.
