An architectural jewel and among the most identifying works of the Bergamo province, Villa Aventino recently celebrated one hundred and ten years since its construction. Completed by the Schiavi Family in 1912 on a commission from the owners of the time, the Ventura Gregorini family, the villa consists of four above-ground floors that are widely articulated thanks to the variegated pattern of the roofing and the presence of openings of different sizes. On the characteristic local stone basement soar volumes that have hosted artists and men of letters, painters and musicians over the years, transforming this elegant “house of delight” into a true cultural salon.
Considered to be a small temple of art thanks to the presence of works by artists such as Giovanni Trussardi Volpi, Cesare Tallone, Giorgio Oprandi and Francesco Domenighini, Villa Aventino has recently undergone a thorough conservative restoration by Schiavi Spa, restoring it to full aesthetic and functional dignity.
To this day, it continues to stand out immortal at the edge of the great meadows of Stà, overlooking the blue waters of the lake and not far from Mount Columbine: surrounded by dense pine forests and valleys and perfectly set in the sublime natural landscape that has welcomed it for more than a century, it is considered among the most important symbols of local history and culture.
